Highview Coffee Lodge

Highview Coffee Lodge is a quiet, secluded part of the Highview Hotel property in Karatu, about 100 metres from the main hotel. The lodge is set right among coffee bushes, giving guests a peaceful and private place to stay. It has cozy double cottages, each with two rooms, a large bathroom, and its own private veranda. Guests can relax with a book while looking out over the valley and the coffee plantation below.

Because Highview Coffee Lodge shares its grounds with Highview Hotel, guests can enjoy all the same facilities, including the swimming pool, spa, restaurant, and lounge with a fireplace. Meals at the Coffee Lodge can be enjoyed in a private dining tent, where guests watch the sunset over the coffee farm while eating breakfast or dinner. Guests can also join a coffee farm tour to learn how coffee is grown, picked, and roasted, right on the lodge grounds.

Highview Coffee Lodge sits in the cool, green highlands of Karatu, close to the forested hills on the edge of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This forest is home to blue monkeys, bushbuck, and many colorful birds. Wild elephants sometimes come down from the forest at night to feed on the coffee plants, so it is common to see elephant tracks near the lodge in the morning. Guests who enjoy nature walks can explore nearby trails into the forest, listening to birdsong and breathing fresh mountain air.
