Sunset Village Lodge is a new, eco-conscious boutique property set within the grounds of Highview Hotel in the highland hills of Karatu. Its location makes it a perfect base for exploring Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, and Serengeti National Park, all within easy reach. The lodge offers 10 private, safari-style luxury bungalows, each with its own veranda. Guests can enjoy a large outdoor swimming pool, a poolside bar, and an elevated central restaurant with wide views over the Karatu landscape.
Sunset Village Lodge is built with comfort, simplicity, and nature in mind. The rooms use warm, natural materials to create a peaceful and welcoming feel, making the lodge an ideal stop for travelers who want to relax and unwind between days on safari. As the name suggests, the lodge is especially known for its stunning sunsets, when the sky turns orange and pink over the rolling Karatu hills. Guests often gather at the poolside bar in the evening just to watch the view.
The lodge sits close to the green, forested slopes that lead up toward the Ngorongoro highlands. This cool highland forest is home to birds, small forest animals, and, at times, wild elephants that pass through the area. Guests can take short walks near the lodge to enjoy the fresh air and forest views, before heading out to the wide-open plains and parks nearby, where lions, elephants, and giraffes roam free.
