Ikoma Wild Camp is located in the buffer zone of the Serengeti ecosystem, between the Grumeti and Ikorongo Game Reserves, in the northwest of Serengeti National Park. The camp sits close to the Fort Ikoma gate and the Grumeti River, giving guests easy access to the park. Ikoma Wild Camp has 10 traditional bandas (round huts) and 15 spacious tents, all well furnished with en-suite bathrooms. The camp is built between two kopjes, large rocky outcrops that rise from the plains, giving it a unique and dramatic setting.
Guests at Ikoma Wild Camp can enjoy a wide range of facilities, including a restaurant serving local and international meals, a swimming pool, Wi-Fi, and a cozy bar area. The camp also offers sundowner cocktails and private bush meals, letting guests dine under the open sky. Because the camp sits just outside the national park in an area of unspoiled bush, both day and night game drives are possible here, along with walking safaris for guests who want to explore on foot with an experienced guide.
Ikoma Wild Camp lies close to the Grumeti River, which is lined with thick riverine forest. This forest is home to some of the largest Nile crocodiles in Africa, which wait in the river for the Great Migration to cross. The forest also shelters hippos, colobus monkeys, and many birds. Beyond the forest, the wide savannah plains around the camp are full of wildlife throughout the year, including giraffes, elephants, and large herds of migrating wildebeest and zebra.
