Ngorongoro Safari Lodge

Ngorongoro Safari Lodge is located in the south of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, about 50 kilometers south-west of Karatu town. The lodge is made up of 10 comfortable luxury tents, each built to host 2 guests. Every tent has a private bathroom, comfortable beds, and a quiet veranda, giving guests a cozy and private place to rest after a day of exploring the Ngorongoro highlands.

Ngorongoro Safari Lodge offers guests a rich mix of wildlife and culture. The lodge is well known for excellent birdlife, with many species to spot right from the property. Guests can also see all of the Big Five nearby: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino. In the evenings, the lodge hosts wildlife and wilderness talks, where guests can learn more about the animals and plants of the area. Maasai dance and cultural displays add a special touch, letting guests learn about the local Maasai way of life. The lodge is also known as a ringside seat for the yearly Ngorongoro migration of wildebeest and zebra, when huge herds move across the highlands.

Ngorongoro Safari Lodge sits near the forested rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. This highland forest is cool and green, home to elephants, buffalo, and shy leopards that move through the trees. Blue monkeys swing through the branches, while colorful turacos and other forest birds fill the air with sound. Just below the forest, the wide grasslands of the crater floor are home to thousands of grazing animals, making this one of the richest wildlife areas in all of Tanzania.
